Do your kids have any of your quirks?

36480

Recent months of counseling aimed at helping me with my depression, has shed all sorts of light on my behavior and personality type, helping to explain so much about why I do much of what I do and in the way in which I do it.
One of the symptoms of the type of condition I have can be OCD like behavior.
I have always known I was a bit anal about a few things. They are bits and pieces I have labeled as quirks. For example, I am pedantic about keeping my kitchen bench clean. Not just clear of stuff but wiped and shiny clean. If I see a picture hanging crooked, I have to straighten it or else it will bug me until it’s fixed. I will straighten up towels hanging in the bathroom so they are all even, if a cupboard door is left open, I will have to close it, I hate going to bed with unwashed dishes sitting by the sink etc. etc.  you get the picture?
Anyway, I have recently started to notice what to me seems like similar behavior in my two year old, Little T. He will walk past the chest of drawers in my bedroom and if a couple are not fully shut, he will close them (without fail). If he spills something, he will get a cloth to clean it up. When he is eating, he will want to wipe his hands and face clean as he goes.
If he has rubbish (like after peeling a mandarin, he will straight away go to put it in the bin). Like me, if a door is open, that should normally be closes, he will close it.
That little boy is turning into a mini me.
I am starting to wonder if he has learned this behavior from watching me or if this is something that comes to him naturally. My mum seems to think he’s probably picked it up from observation as she thinks I have learned some of my quirks from her in the same way.
Now that I am conscious of it, every time he does something like this, it makes me laugh
.
Have your kids adopted any of your quirky or OCD like behaviors? If so, what?
