Dear PR Executive

Dear PR Executive,

Happy Thursday. I hope you’re well!

You obviously did no homework about me or my blog when you sent me your email which also started off by asking if I was “well”, because had you read any of my recent posts, you’d understand I’ve been suffering from Depression of late.

So nice of you to tell me you loved my last post about “enter title here”.

That really exciting brand opportunity you had turned out to be a bit of a fizzer didn’t it. Offering “my family” some free school holiday DVD’s. Had you done any homework on me, you’d know I am a single mother with a 2 year old son.

Not only is the 2-for-1 offer for my readers unappealing, the titles on offer too old for my son and our “family” unaffected by school holidays as we don’t go to “school” but you must surely realise that what you are proposing really does not rank too high on the “exciting opportunity” scale.

It’s quite possible up there with offers I’ve recently had to review and write about pocket packs of tissues, rice crackers that RRP for $3.75 or the numerous iPad apps valued at 99cents.

Please understand, that just because I am a mother who writes a blog I do not fit into your stereotypical demographic that I am sure gets lumped with the term “mummy blogger”. I work full-time, I earn above average income, I am not excited by low value free stuff that will only add to the clutter in my home and will not help pay for my son’s future school fees.

I barely have time to read a book every six months, let alone write blog posts on a topic that will not inspire my readers to click on a URL or get past the first paragraph in their RSS reader.

I look forward to not working with you.

Many thanks,
Jodie
xx

P.S. Please don't take this personally, you did get me on a bad day, where I was anything but "well".
